
How to Measure Your Honeycomb Shades Accurately: Inside Mount vs. Outside Mount

Measuring is actually very simple — let us show you how!
✅ Before You Start: Make Sure Your Window Meets These Conditions
- ✅ The inside of the window frame is flat and free of protrusions
- ✅ The window frame depth is at least 2 1/2 inches and has a square structure

📏 Inside Mount: How to Measure
To Measure Width:
- Measure the inside width at the top, middle, and bottom of the window frame
- Record the smallest measurement
- If the result includes
1/16"
or1/32"
, round down to the nearest1/8"
Example: 35 11/16" → 35 5/8" - This final value is your order width.
To Measure Height:
- Measure vertically on the left, middle, and right of the window
- Record the largest measurement
- If the result includes
1/16"
or1/32"
, round up to the nearest1/8"
Example: 35 11/16" → 35 3/4" - This final value is your order height.
Note: No need to make your own deductions — our factory will handle the fitting adjustments to ensure a perfect inside mount.
📏 Outside Mount: How to Measure
To Measure Width:
- Measure the width of the window opening at the top, middle, and bottom
- Record the largest measurement
- Add at least 4 inches (we recommend 4–6 inches for better blackout)
- This final value is your order width.
To Measure Height:
- Measure from the top of the mounting location to the window sill (left, middle, and right)
- Record the largest measurement
- Add at least 4 inches for full coverage
- This final value is your order height.
